State basketball tournament: Friday Harbor boys vs. Oroville, girls vs. Tri-Cities Prep

Friday Harbor boys and girls basketball teams will be traveling to Eastern Washington for the regional round of their Class 2B 2018 State Basketball Tournaments Saturday, Feb. 24. The 14-seed Wolverine girls will meet 11-seed Tri-Cities Prep at 2 p.m. at Chiawana High School in Pasco. The 13th-seeded Friday Harbor boys will face 12th-seeded Oroville at 8 p.m. at Wenatchee High School.


Friday Harbor boys surge to victory in Bi-District championship

Friday Harbor High School boys basketball team’s offense surged in the fourth quarter for a 55-41 victory over Crosspoint Point High School Thursday, Feb. 15. The Wolverines outscored the Warriors 23-7 in the final period and secured the Class 2B 2018 Bi-District Basketball Tournament title with the win at Sedro-Woolley High School.

Friday Harbor boys roll past La Conner, secure regional state berth Friday Harbor boys basketball team rolled to a 52-29 victory against La Conner Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 and secured a Class 2B State Regional Tournament berth. The Wolverines (13-8) next play Crosspoint (13-6) in the Bi-District Championship at 5:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018 at Sedro-Woolley High School.

Friday Harbor hosts La Conner in first round of Bi-District Tuesday

Friday Harbor (12-8) will host La Conner (10-11) at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13 in the first round of Class 2B Bi-District Tournament. The Braves advanced to contest against the top-seeded Wolverines by edging Seattle Lutheran 48-46 in a loser-out play-in game Saturday, Feb. 10. Friday Harbor — the Northwest 2B/1B League champion — won both conference games against third-place La Conner this season.
